NRSC and GOP square up against O’Donnell and Tea Party

09/14/2010

Trent Lott, fmr Senate Majority Leader, already gave the impression the GOP was not happy about true conservative roots from the Tea Party, by saying in a Washington Post interview that “we don’t need a lot of Jim DeMint disciples… As soon as they get here, we need to co-opt them.”

But now FOX News is reporting that “Republican aides told Fox News Tuesday that the National Republican Senatorial Committee will not be funding O’Donnell’s general election campaign, leaving it up to Palin and the Tea Party Express to do the heavy lifting,” though “The NRSC issued a terse statement congratulating O’Donnell for her nomination ‘after a hard-fought primary campaign.'”  Sour Grapes from the Establishment?

Karl Rove slammed O’Donnell on Hannity this evening:

As Michelle Malkin writes:

I just finished watching Karl Rove trashing GOP Senate primary winner Christine O’Donnell. It was on Sean Hannity’s FNC show. Might as well have been Olbermann on MSNBC. The establishment Beltway strategist couldn’t even bother with an obligatory word of congratulations for O’Donnell. He criticized her “character” and “rectitude” and claimed she hadn’t answered questions about her financial woes. She did so here. Rove mocked her security concerns as “nutty.” Yet, her concerns have been more than justified. See here (second video clip).

Rove came across as an effete sore loser instead of the supposedly brilliant and grounded GOP strategist that he’s supposed to be. Expect more Washington Republicans to start sounding like Tea Party-bashing libs as their entrenched incumbent friends go down. (Hot Air has the Rove/Hannity video.)

At O’Donnell’s victory speech, she invited a 9/12 patriot to speak. He sent a special message right back to Rove, recounting how Rove had met with Delaware 9/12-ers and Tea Party folks to try and convince them to back the “more electable” candidate. “No one is going to tell us how to take care of business,” the 9/12-er said he told Rove. And now, he observed, the “more electable” candidate Rove wanted them to vote for has been…unelected.

Housecleaning means we get rid of anyone who isn’t a true conservative, and that means dragging them out kicking and screaming if we have to.

Incidentally, the NRSC will not be getting any financial support from me this election season. Instead, I will be directly donating to the campaigns that I see as representative of my interests. Deeply-entrenched establishment-Republicans are to be ripped out by the roots and thrown to the dogs.

WHOA!!! I’m listening to a Mark Levin clip here…I didn’t realize, Castle is a progressive dipshit who voted for cash for clunkers, tarp, cap and trade. He’s a progressive republican, plain and simple.
